The NEW Shed

October Update

Once the main structure of the shed was built – the inside needed first fix electrics, insulating, plaster board, protective thistle boards to the main walls, painting and finally the electricians – Ace electrical then finished the wiring and heat detection work and we are now good to go!

We were very lucky to get the insulation and plasterboard donated by SIG in Aberdeen – thanks to one of our members contacts in the building industry.

There’s still quite a bit to do – the layout isn’t finalised, we need your input as to where you want things to go so, come along and have your say!

We worked with Grampian Steel and Baxters Design Architects to design our new building and planning permission was granted in July 2024 for a 10m x 6m all purpose shed to be built at the back of our property.

With planning permission and building warrants in place we began to apply for funding. Once we had the funding in place we started the building process. With the foundations laid, the rest of the building came together very quickly.

We now have our new shed and improved access ramp to the rear of the main hall.

Our main funders for the Shed have been:-

National Lottery Community Fund, Robertson Wee Grants, Albert Hunt, Stagecoach, The Clothworkers Foundation plus several members of the community and shed members who have raised funds through disco’s, tombolas and raffles. coffee morning and plant sales.
